DISCOVER ART THERAPY
privacy policy
Last updated: October 11, 2026
This explains what information I collect when you visit discoverarttherapy.com, sign up for a freebie, buy something, join a membership or event, or get in touch. It also explains why I collect it, who else handles it and what your choices are.
I’m Ashleigh Gureckas, doing business as Discover Art Therapy. I’m the person responsible for privacy here.
You can reach me any time at [email protected].
I don’t currently offer clinical art therapy through this website, so I don’t keep clinical files or health records on this website.
If I ever offer one to one sessions or any clinical work, you’ll get separate privacy information for it before you book.
what i collect
When you sign up or buy
- Your name and email address.
- Your payment details. These go straight to the payment services that Kajabi uses. I don’t see or keep your full card number.
- Your billing country and postal or zip code, so taxes can be worked out.
- Your mailing address, only when something is sent to you by post.
- What you bought and what you can open.
When you join a membership, event or community
- Your name and email, and the time you join a live session on Zoom.
- Your camera and voice, if you choose to turn them on.
- The replays you watch.
- What you post, comment or share in a community space.
When you contact me or apply for something
- Your message and the contact details you give me.
- If you apply for a workshop, what you tell me on the application, such as your organization, your preferences and your budget.
Words you send me on purpose, such as a testimonial.
When you visit the Site
- Basic visit information, such as the pages you view, your browser and device, and roughly where you are. This comes from cookies and similar tools (see “Cookies and tracking” below).
On social media. If you comment on or message my Instagram or Facebook accounts, I can see your public username and what you send. Meta handles that information under its own policies.
The Creative Spark Deck remembers your last 30 prompts, the type you picked and your level of depth. It keeps these in your own browser, on your own device. I don’t receive them. Nothing you do in the Creative Spark Deck is sent to an AI tool.
Please don’t send me health details in forms, emails or messages. In a community space, what you share is up to you, but think of it as shared with the group.
why i collect it
- To take payment, give you access and run what you bought.
- To send receipts, session reminders, replays, mail and answers to your messages.
- To send you emails about my work, only if you’ve asked for them.
- To keep the Site working and to understand which pages and offers people find useful.
- To follow tax and other legal rules.
emails
I send news and offers only to people who have said yes. Every one of those emails has an unsubscribe link. Emails about something you bought or joined, such as receipts and access details, are different and you may still get them. Kajabi records whether an email is opened and which links are clicked. I use that to see what is useful. Each email carries my name and mailing address.
cookies and tracking
Cookies are small files that a website puts on your device. I use them and similar tools to keep you logged in, to remember your checkout and to see how the Site is used.
- Kajabi is the platform my Site runs on. It records visits and activity on the Site, such as pages viewed.
- Meta Pixel. The Site uses the Meta (Facebook and Instagram) Pixel. It records page views and sends them to Meta. [CONFIRM: why you use it, for example to measure and run ads, and whether it also records sign-ups or purchases.]
You can turn cookies off in your browser, or use a browser or extension that blocks trackers. You can also change how Meta uses information for ads in your Facebook and Instagram ad settings. If you turn cookies off, parts of the Site may stop working.
recordings
I record live sessions on Zoom. If you join live with your camera or microphone on, you may be in the recording. The only way to stay out of a recording is not to attend live and watch the replay instead.
Recordings are kept in private, members-only access through Kajabi. I don’t give them out. [CONFIRM: that you keep no copies on your own devices.]
I ask members to keep what others share in the group private and not to record or copy sessions. I can’t control what other members do, so please share only what you’re comfortable sharing.
your art and your words
I don’t share members’ art. I only share a member’s words, such as a quote on a page, when they’ve given me clear permission. You can ask me to take your words down at any time by emailing me.
who else handles your information
I don’t sell your information. I use these services to run my business, and they handle your information for me:
- Kajabi for the website, checkout, courses, community, memberships and email
- Payment services used by Kajabi [CONFIRM: for example Stripe and PayPal]
- Zoom for live sessions
- Google Workspace for my email, calendar and documents
- Meta for the Meta Pixel, Instagram and Facebook
- ManyChat: to deliver one-time automated messages on Instagram and Facebook
- The post office for anything I mail to you
These services look after your information under their own privacy policies. If you listen to my podcast on Apple Podcasts, Spotify or YouTube, those platforms also have their own policies.
where your information is kept
Some of these services store information outside Canada, including in the United States. Courts and authorities in those countries may be able to ask for it under their laws.
how long i keep it
I keep your information while you have an account, are a member or are on one of my lists. I also keep it for as long as I need it for the reasons above. I keep payment and tax records for as long as the law asks me to, which is generally six years in Canada. After that I delete the information or make it anonymous. Recordings stay in the members-only library for as long as it runs.
keeping it safe
I take reasonable steps to protect your information, and so do the services I use. No system is completely secure, so I can’t promise that nothing will ever go wrong. If something happens that puts your information at real risk of serious harm, I’ll tell you as soon as I reasonably can and do what the law requires.
your choices and rights
You can ask to see the information I hold about you, ask me to correct it, or ask me to delete it where I’m able to. Email [email protected] and I’ll reply within 30 days.
I follow British Columbia’s Personal Information Protection Act and, where it applies, Canada’s federal privacy law. For email, I follow Canada’s anti-spam law. If you’re not happy with how I’ve handled your information, please tell me first. You can also contact the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia (oipc.bc.ca) or the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (priv.gc.ca).
People in some places, such as the European Union, the United Kingdom and some US states, have extra privacy rights. If that’s you, email me and I’ll do what I can to honour them.
who this is for
The Site and my programs are for adults, which means people who are 18 or older. I don’t knowingly collect information from children. If you think a child has given me their information, email me and I’ll delete it.
changes
If I change this policy, I’ll update the date at the top. If a change is important, I’ll tell you by email or with a notice on the Site. Questions? Email [email protected].
